Default RTV on Head Gaskets
The FSM doesn't mention RTV. Should I be putting RTV on the head gaskets?

Never have; nice clean grease free surface and on they go.
They will come with instructions if you arent sure. Make sure "top" faces up

Get the block/head surfaces as clean as you can...then clean them some more...the do a final wipe down with some brake cleaner. Make sure the surfaces are straight, apply the head gasket (no extra RTV should be used).

I have heard of peeps using sealant only on the HEAD BOLT THREADS. however I use the proper GM Thread sealer for head bolts..
