Default Do adjustable idle position senzors help performance?

Hi I've seen these adjustable idle position senzors. My 93 lt1 doesn't come adjustable stock with this like some of the older vettes. They aren't that expensive. You know the one that you can put a voltage gauge on idle position senzor and adjust the sensor position till voltage reads just what it's suposed too be at idle. Do these give any improvement or enough to make it worthwhile buying them? Thanks Tim

Your computer is supposed to "adjust the voltage" value on the '93. The only adjustment for the earlier (85-89) vettes is that the slots on the sensor allows you to rock it slightly.....then tighten it down. If you feel you need to adjust yours you can open up the mounting holes a bit to get a similar amount of adjustment/movement.

You should only need one if you have an aftermarket throttle body.

Yes the way I understand it the computer does adjust it based on voltage values it gets from the idle sensor. The adjustable idle sensor just allows you to blueprint the sensors voltage reading to where the throttle blade is really at. so that it's exactly right through out it's range. The idea is to give the computer a much closer idea of how far the throttlebody really is open. I could grind the mounting holes I guess but I would also need to know what to adjust the voltage to be. Anyone know how to do this? May not be a whole lot of gain from doing this but if it doesn't cost me anything why not try it.
