I have a 96 and my front brakes were squeaking so I thought I needed new pads, pulled the calipers and found they were just glazed, so I cleaned everything up, put anti seize on the parts. Used a clamp to slowly push the pistons back in and reinstalled everything.
When I started the car the brake pressure light stayed on and has stayed on since, the brakes work fine and feel normal all the way around.
FSM method: Try pressing the pedal hard not sharply but just steadily push the pedal until you've got a lot of force on it to reset the pressure warning switch.
Or
I think if you get an assistant to pump up and hold the brake pedal while you open one of the front bleeders it will allow the proportioning valve to move back to center and reset the switch too.
The idea I had with the front bleed was to simulate a front circuit failure. So lossen the bleed screw and then turn it in just enough to hold pressure, apply pressure to the pedal then open it quickly. I think that will disengage the switch.
