Coolant Question...Distilled Water

WHY? Coolant actually adds to the efficiency of the system. Unless it was for a "short term" for diagnostic reasons I'd think it foolish and unwise! Distilled water is certainly the preferred "mixer"!!!

Coolant does numerous things. It raises the boiling point of water, lowers the freezing point, lubricates the water pump, and prevents corrosion.
If those things aren't of interest to you, you certainly could run straight water. Doesn't seem like a smart trade-off to me, but I also don't know what you are trying to accomplish.

Some tracks require straight water because they run motorcycles and antifreeze is slick and harder to clean off the track than oil is. But if you have to go water for a track event go back to a proper coolant mix after the event for the benefits listed above.
