I have a '95 LT1 6-speed which often seems to be on the brink of killing when taking off from a standstill. I have to take it easy slipping in the clutch and sometimes even having to give it gas, or else the engine will bog pretty apparently. It will kill on me if I'm not careful. I thought a vette should be hard to kill? .. but this is my first one
Could this be a clutch issue? The car runs really strong otherwise, but from takeoff, it feels as weak as my 4 cylinder daily driver

over 90,000. The motor purrs otherwise, which I was why I thought it might be another component (clutch?). Acceleration seems dead-on for an LT1, although I haven't taken it to the strip

That statement needs clarifying. I was thinking about carefully pulling in and out of the garage when I typed that. On the street, I give it gas. However, if I don't give it enough, it bogs heavily. It doesn't feel right for a 5.7L how much gas I have to give it and how carefully I need to slip in the clutch. I haven't had this issue with other V8 manual cars I've driven
Weak spark will do that. Use a wire with clip leads on each end and connect it to ground. Bring the clip lead close to a pulled plug wire and see if you have a nice snappy, at least a 1/2 inch spark. Also, measure the resistance of each plug wire, they should be about 5000 ohms per foot. If you find one or more with very high resistance, its plug wire replacement time.
