i'm having a similar problem. my buttons just don't work. i ordered a whole new climate control center from corvette south. they had the best price even with shipping. i didn't want to be bothered with it, so i'm just replacing it...

yeah, i just got a 94 myself. needs a little bit of work, but for the most part it runs fine. it's actually going to the Vette Doctors in amityville on tuesday. did you ever get that problem with the ABS system sorted out?
i've heard that the bulbs can be changed, i just don't know how to take it apart. i'll bet the buttons can also be cleaned, i just didn't want to be bothered with it. i want as little down-time as possible... let me know how everything turns out...

There are typically two problems which occur to the 'control head' for the 'automatic A/C.
One is the buttons don't work (can't change air direction/fan speed/temp setting) -- this is most often the result of corrosion between the the rubber membrane's 'carbon buttons' and the gold contact surfaces of the circuit board which sits behind the rubber membrane (both of which sit behind the actual plastic buttons). A few q-tips and some isopropol alcohol and they can be cleaned and restored to 'like new' performance.
2nd problem is the illumination bulbs die (often due to voltage spikes either when disconnecting/reconnecting the battery or jump starting the car). These are soldered to the circuit board, but are available at Radio shack and only require a soldering iron with a sharp pointed tip.
Unfortuantely to fix either requires removal of the console lid/covers and the trim around the radio and the control head.
The good news is once your done it once, it's not that bad -- just be careful with the console trim as the rubbery coating can be damaged very easily.
Both fix procedures were available in the tech notes section, which UNFORTUNATELY IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE.
Do a search and you might find some posts which reference the bulb numbers.
Yes fixed the abs heres what my situation was, first had water get into car from rain due to bad grommits in the rear hatch, so i plugged them, no more water in car now yeahhh. Second repalced all interior foam under rugs, quite a project but fun. Third repalced the abs computer module found it on ebay for 75 bucks since other one wasunder 6 inches of water and made it fry. Fourth removed rear passenger tire found that wheel sensor plug was disconnected so replace recepticle and now all lights are off, everything works and i even hear the pump cycle now. Fifth, had no air coming out of center dash and cruside not working right, so i rewad in here and found vaccum control check valve was burned up a hole from heat and found one line not even connected, replace with a new one at autozone for 3.89 and now ac dash works stronger then ever and cruise is fixed. Now my next project is to remove all pieces to replace these bulbs. Thanks to all who contributed, you guys are awsome and saved my quite a few bucks had I gone to a mechanic. My next step is repalcing my rims prefer chrome sawblades 8.5x17 front and 9.5x17 rear. chrome is starting to pit, i think knock on wood once i do these two things i am done and all is right again with car...if anyone knows of these rims for sale would much appreciate dont have 1000 bucks to buy new ones so pass the word along and i can do 500..
It does, was glitchy, sometimes you would push a button and it would not respond till you pushed some buttons further down the dial, but it worked perfect 90% of the time.
I got one, from a guy that went full track, so it was just sitting at his house.
I took mine apart and cleaned it up, should work.
I can not guarantee it though, hence the low price, but all the lights light up, if someone was needing that.
let me clarify all buttons works thank God just certain lights dont at night. I enjoy tinkering aroung with her as i have been able to fix most problems myself with the help of this forum. I will let you guys know how it goes and probably recommend buying a new one lol, sorry for all mispelled words i just realized after reading back opps...

Due to the kindness of 'dclafleur' (much thanks), who had a link to an archive of the c4 tech-tips, here is the link to the procedure for replacing the bulbs on the radio control head.
There's a chance the AC control head's bulbs are the same, so here this is just in case:
