Default egr valve?

What is an egr valve and what does it do? total noob here! Also i have a 92 sixspeed. how do i go about replaceing one? THANKS!

an egr valve takes gases from the exhaust and routes them into the intake. its supposed to help with emissions.

don't replace it, get rid of it! hot gas in intake = BAD. jk, do what you want to

Sorry....slight hijack here

I have everything out while in the middle of head gaskets and don't want to put the air stuff back on. What size plug do I need for the manifolds? I thought I saw something about that a while back.

The EGR is that round thing at the rear of your intake manifold. It has a vacuum line going to it. There are 2 nuts that hold it on.

Yeah your right....spaced when read the post above about routing the gasses. Know what size plug anyway.
