Vacuum Brake Bleeder
Hey guys,
Do any one of you own a vacuum brake bleeder? I saw this on the Ecklers website. It's shaped like a garden hose spray nozzle. Supposedly good for bleeding the brake fluids with only one person. For $69.99 I'm tempted to give it a shot. What do you guys think?

Just go buy some speed bleeders, you can get them at pep-boys for less then $30. It is a one person job, thay are easy to use and fast.
I've got one and it's not exactly what I need. I needed to be able to flush all my fluid out, which this is no good for. It would work fine for just bleeding though. If I can ever get my friend to help me I'll bleed mine the old fashioned way, but in the time I've been waiting I could have bought some speed bleeders and done them 30 times by now.
Buy some speed bleeders for $20 from summit and you will never be happier. Thats what I use and I can bleed all my brakes by myself in about 10 minutes (minus the time needed for jacking the car up and removing the rims)
I would go to an up to date shop that has all the equip to do fluid changes via pressure/ attachments that way you get the system checked for leak and such and a thorough fluid flush.
I have the exact Eklers unit you are talking about...and it does not work very well. thank goodness I'm married because I get her out there once a year to work the brakes. However, the unit does have other uses ie: siphoning off fluids in tight places.....don't waste your $ if you just need it for bleeding and buy yourself some bleeders as I am going to do.
If you just have to have one, get it at a place like Harbor Freight. It goes for something like $20. It's good for doing a complete flush cause you can suck up a pretty good volume, but the seal on the bleeder valve isn't good enough to be sure you get all the air out of the line.
SAVE YOUR MONEY !!!! below is a simple and effective method to bleed your brakes by yourself and be able to flush the lines as well. I hope the picture I drew up is self explanatory enough.......hope this helps.. I have used this method countless times with no problems ever.
