MY 91 has 111,000 miles.........just pulled the rail........have NO IDEA if the injectors are stock or not........have most of the repair records since it was a one owner car.......cant see that they have been replaced. How long is their life span?? If they are the originals......should I replace them?? Car ran great and was mechanically sound...other than the intake leak which I am fixing now. I have NO IDEA how to test these things to tell if they are OK...
All info is greatly appreciated!!!!
I don't know about the lifespan, but it's probably pretty long. A friend of mine has 110k miles on his LT1 and I know his injectors are stock. Car runs strong too, it dyno'd 260 hp with no signs of any fuel or ignition problems.
My 1991 had 2 leaky injectors after only 29k miles.Sound advise from RKreigh. After 110k mile your injectors don't owe you anything. Now that you have access to them, service or replace...IMO.

Since you already have access to them now is the time to get new ones. Mine went at 110k. You'll feel silly doing it all over again in a few miles. A set of new ones from cruisinperformance is about $240. Why take a chance with that many miles?
I know its a gamble........but also......their is a VERY WIDE RANGE of prices on these things........so far I have from $240 all the way to about $900.
I feel sceptical of the cheap ones and feel like I am being ripped a new bung hole with the expensive ones!
Some say they last a very long time and others say replace them.......I am on a limited budget right now......I think I am going to keep mine, as they are good right now.....if they go in 200 miles.......all I really have is the $17.95 for gaskets and then a decision on which injector!
not being sacreligious...but I'll take my chances and hope the car gods like me for a little while longer!!!!
:D
KNC,
Hey I just replaced mine and it did make a difference. Mine only had 38k on them! I went with SVO #24 from Summit for 219.00 They are much quiter and now my car is starts easier, having a tough time keeping it running with this new setup though. At least it is running on the rich side now instead of being lean. I need to spend some serious time tuning the beast. Good luck.
My first original set lasted 109K miles, The replacement set at the engine rebuild (new Bosch/ford #24's) half were broke outta the box. The Accels I put in have been in 9K miles with no problenm
