Default HELP fuel pump change

hi,

can anybody explain in detail (with pics if any) how to change the fuel pump on a 1991 corvette ?:o


I dont know how to gain access to the fuel pump

Remove the gas cap lid, the rubber housing, fuel lines and wires and finally the pump assembly.

Remember, Do not use an incandecent light near the open fuel tank.

thanks, fuel pump replaced from where can I buy just the fuel pump filter ?

Most parts store should have it, its a common GM part.

very common my 95 vette uses the same fuel filter my 2006 tahoe uses.

Are you talking about the item in between the pump and the metal line? If so, I agree it replaces it. I thought you were talking about the one up front.

That is the 'pulsator' which looks like in the kit is replaced by a short piece of fuel line...hopefully that clears this up thanks for the pic!

Having taken it off and see that it just slips on, I think it is a good thing to remove. That way fuel only goes to the regulator and not leak out of that thing and lower pressure.

I dont know maybe it is there for a reason anyway, I removed it when I changed the new pump... hope that its ok

ok, I have 94 that needs a new fuel pump and I looked at the racetronix pump, it is listed for $99.00 but when I went to pay for it the total came to $190.00?? im confused. anyone know why?
