Default Replace stock exhaust, input ..

Have a 94 LT1 stock exhaust. want to replace it all ! if I want to go with long tube headers, what do i need to know? will computer need reprogramming? oxygen sensors? performance increase, what can I expect? I believe it has true duals with no Y pipe, if so should I go to a Y pipe? benefit of going with long tube vs shorty headers?
any and all input appreciated, am sure you guys have heard these questions many times, thanks

Stock 94 has two o2 sensors, resonator behind the cats unless someone replaced it.

I found some stainless works headers and cats I'm going to put on my car labor day weekend.

The stock exhaust is not bad. A tune will make the most of long tube headers and exhaust. If you plan to track your car make sure any mods don't put you in a class where you won't be competitive.

No am not going to take the vette to the track. Just want good sound and performance.
How much for the stainless works headers?
also Florida has no emission restrictions so I may just use the stock
mufflers, the guy before me just replaced them, go with long tube headers, remove the cats and go straight pipe back to the mufflers.
Once I see how that sounds and performs, may end up adding something aftermarket for mufflers.
So once I install the headers, will need to get my computer reprogrammed ? you mentioned getting my engine tuned..
