I worked for two hours trying to get my catalic converter off my car to gut it and when I finally got it off I found that the previous owner already did this. i wish he would have told me so I wouldn't have wasted all this time.
:cry :cry I hate it when I run across a mod I didn't know was there. I have a ported MAF I discovered a year ago. I also have flowmaster mufflers that I discovered AFTER I had already bought new mufflers. I kept the flows.
I was kinda laughing reading this....Im suprised you didnt look inside the rear of the cat to make sure it was sill there.
But that happens to all of us, just something we didnt think to do ahead of time.I know how ya feel...suxs to hear you spent all that time for nothing.
Dont feel bad, I once spent close to 130 dollars for a aftermarket chip for another car, and when I dropped the ECM down to install the new chip, the SAME EXACT CHIP was already in there!!!! I thought I had the factory chip, the guy who sold me the car said it was all stock so I never thought to check it first.
Before gutting,For the others, drop the rear Y pipe down and look inside the cat to see if the ceramic looking brick is still in there...use a flash light if needed,ya cant miss it.
:)
