Default Omg please help

Ok so I was working on my bikes in the gurage the other day so I left my 92 vet out over night ( BAD IDEA ). Well aparently one of the cocky little ****s from around the block decited to put water in my gas tank. It was so bad it wouldnt start the next day. So I pulled the fuel line off at the filter under the car and it was so bad it look like milk. I syphened all the gas out ( 3/4 of a tank wasted ) and changed the filter and it ran really rough so I only added about 20 bucks in gas and some heat to it. Still ran gough so I checked my plug wires and my coil. Wires are fine but coil looks like its the stock one lol so I changed it to an MSD coil. Still ran rough, so I changed out the plugs. Got a bit better but still runs rough. So I fugure screw it Im gunna drop the tank and dump it out and clean it. ( fairly easy I might add compared to my 89 chevy truck ) So no gass im the tank so I took my compressor and shot some air into the supply line ( from the tank to the fuel rail ) and got all the fuel out of the lines FYI WATCH YOUR RETURN LINE I didnt and had to change my shoes lol. So I get it all back togather and it still runs abit rough. I forgot to mention that I used HEAT and a injector cleaner the last 2 tanks after this started hopping it would work its self out.

My question is should I pull my fuel rail and check my injectors? Is there a filter on the injectors that I can take out and clean? Or is it posable that an injector might be slightly cloged? Dam kids now days, NO RESPECT. lol

No other filter but the main one - sorry.

Yea the water could have gummed up one of the injectors. Contact Jon at FIC and get a set of Bosch III's or have him rebuild your current set.

Wow...that sucks. Is it worth investing in a locking gas cap? If so, which ones are you guys using?

I would say that the gas lines still have water in them, you would have to remove all of the fuel lines/ rail and get them dried out with compressed air or something.

It's a return fuel system so anything in the lines will get circulated through quickly.

If it rained in your area that night you may also want to consider that maybe the drain in your rubber boot is clogged. If this happens the water can go into the tank until it slowly drains out of the boot...Just a thought..WW

I'm thinking you could try to flush the fuel system out by opening the bleeder at the fuel rail and attach a temp hose. Switch on the fuel pump and run a gallon of your new fuel thru. You might also try to pass some alcohol thru the fuel rail to the injectors to purge out the trapped water. The alcohol will break down the water and allow it to pass thru the injectors.
You might also pull the fuel pump and drain the fuel tank. Then wipe out the bottom of the tank with a towel. Add a few gallons and add some SeaFoam. Run the engine and change the fuel filter.

I wouldn't want to subject new injectors to the possibility of water contamination until I'm 100% sure all the water is gone. My 0.02

Well I did take out my fuel pump asimbly and drained also cleaned my fuel tank out. Added 5 gallons of gas and a bottle of sea foam. Did that about a week ago. Still rans like crap. John said that water could have caused one of the injectors to rust or seaze up ( not sure has been about 2 weeks sence I talked to him ). The injectors are the origanal ones any way. Ill try the alcohol tomarrow b4 I order them. Also, do any of you thank it could have caused any problems with the regulator on the fuel rail? It just kills me to see my baby run like crap. I got asked at a stop light if I had a cam in my car LMAO. It was imbarising as hell.

Also I thought about taking off the fuel rail and disasimbling it and cleaning and drying every thing. Its the only thing I havent done.

stop adding things to the fuel - the sea foam should do the trick for the residual water - many boaters use it in their tanks and get great results.

stop wasting your time - just get the injectors from
the place mentioned. you need them anyway.....

If you have already run SeaFoam thru I'd stop and wait for a set of injectors. While everything is apart, never hurts to flush out the rail and FPR.

Coming from a mechanic please understand something very VERY simple about locking gas caps... THEY DON'T KEEP ANYONE OUT BUT YOU! I can walk up to any "locking gas cap" and get it off by simply pulling up or pushing down and twisting (without a key or pick... forget the lock even exists).

The best way to keep your stuff safe is to keep it in the garage when not in use, period.
