I recently got one on E-bay and thougt the seller had sold me wrong one. So i ordered one from Corvette Central and its the exact same ****. So... anybody with a 87, am I nuts or not?
My shift button has 4 snap clams, 2 "C" type snaps that snap to the "T" that goes down to the OD button, and on the back it has 2 more "C" snaps that snap to pegs/pins on the **** in the button hole. My current old **** has one missing and one there (of back two pins) and the leather is bad, so I wanted to replace it. But both ***** that are spose to be for the car do not have the Back pins for the button to snap to. Is my setup from a differnt year? anybody have any ideas?
The **** you require that mounts the button switch (86-88 ) is not available anywhere except 2nd hand . The ***** you are being sent are for 84 -85 with the O/d switch in the console.
Ok I buy that, and think you are right. So why does everybody List it as fitting the 87 (and other cars?) I mean when i pick 87 for year and pick that part they list the **** Im buying, I know it will fit my shifter, but its not the right ****. Seems like poor advertising. No warning, nothing in fine print. Just that it is the **** for a 87 (by there parts search). The button is listed as no longer made, why not list the **** like that also then? Guess any buck you make nowdays, sneaky or legit is considered good by most companys.
I guess i'm going to have to move the button and use the ****, shipping it back and getting Store credit (when it was listed incorrectly in my mind) is lame. Laready lose shipping it back, and paying teh overly high shipping charges to begin with.
