I recently posted a thread about rebuild vs. buying a new motor due to blown head gaskets.
Well, as it turns out, the motor didn't overheat due to a failed water pump. Instead, it was due to a blockage of one of the thin cooling system hoses!
My car now runs 10-20 degrees cooler, at 210 when it would've been 230. I would suggest all owners with cooling system issues to make sure they replace their hoses when doing any work!
If it was the 113 headed L98, it's a known problem - it has nothing to do with the hoses. The head gasket leaks exhaust into the coolant system (allmost always at #7) causing galvanic corrosion which blocks up the coolant passageways. If it plugged up a hose, hope you replaced the radiator and heater core.

I think I have 128 aluminum heads on mine (mid year '86) Any problems with these? What is the difference besides maybe accomodating the increased hp?
