Default Head casting numbers.....

What are the stock head casting numbers for a 1996 LT1?

Are either one of these correct?

10207643 or 10128374

A few weeks ago I pulled the stock heads off my son's 96 LT1 Vette to install new Dart Pro 1s.

Here's are 643s and are for sale.

That's exactlly what I need them for. The numbers I posted are what they require as core trade ins. I guess I'll have to look and see.

That can't be right because the ones I pulled off my son's 96 LT1 are 643s.

I have a complete NHRA listing somewhere around here that shows which heads came on which year engines; it's for stock class tech issues.

Yes, the casting number is under the valve covers.

like i said, thats just what i remember

thought i read on www.ltxtech.com or www.ls1tech.com that the 96' LT1 heads were not the ones that LE or AI took as an exchange. dont remember what the specific casting #s were though

i could be wrong. anyone know for sure?

looks like the #s the OP posted were definately the ones to look for. only way to know if he has either is if he pulls the valve covers however
