Default getting hot issue ?

ok, i took the Vette to the credible shop and i had a 180 stat put in and they removed the crossmember and cleaned the exterior of the radiator.

It runs great while driving down the road at 50 but you stop and put money in the ATM it will then run hotter. I hear the fan come on so it must be working?

ANY ADVICE WOULD HELP ....

THANKS

Does the temp start droping when the fans come on??
I cleaned a lot of grass out of thr front or mine when I bought it.
I pulled it out then used compressed air.now the fans are quiet because it actually sucks air thru now.
It still gets hot 227 before the fans come on.I'm looking at putting a low temp switch on it so it comes on at 200 deg.

When ever you stop in a vette the temp is going to go up pretty quick, mine does..Its how quick the temps come down that really matters..When you stop these cars there is no cooling at all until the fan kicks on and in this hot weather we have had lately it doesn't take long for my fan to kick on..Sounds normal to me...WW

That is not hot, that is the normal operating fan temp for a C4 .GM states to turn engine off if it gets to 260.
