Possible Crankcase Pressurization?
The fact I'm interested in other things doesn't mean I feel there's any inferiority. The only thing that truly leads me away from Honda is the enthusiast based, not the product. As far as Honda engineering is concerned, I'm quite confident it's the top tier out there...period.
I also believe in Corvette which is why I've been an enthusiast of these cars for even longer. The only thing that kept me from these cars were finances.
Take it one step at a time, evacuate the blow by with what you already have available, if the problem continues then troubleshoot further. For piece of mind, do a compression check and/or leakdown to determine the true health of the motor at this point.
I'm not attacking your experience or expertise, but I do have a right to an opinion correct? It seems you just became aggravated because I questioned your "window area" statement. Blow by is blow by, managing it is straightforward and the cause is the same so why did it have to become a Honda vs. SBC discussion? I simply felt you were being demeaning. I merely wanted to lend the OP my opinion in order to help cause that's what a forum is for. It seems like your making it appear as if I've hurt this process because this thread didn't end with your declaration of the issue.
No hard feelings man, I'm sure I'll be seeking some of your Corvette specific advice later.
The L98 Vettes with those metal valve covers and orange silicone gaskets were always a problem for me. You need a new gasket and you need to scrupulously clean/remove all oil with lacquer thinner. Even with all the blow-by in the world the gasket should stay in place. As another reader noted you will usually first push the dipstick out (replace old dipsticks too - they'll push oil out w/o a blower!) first. Besides Indy has a breather on each cover. I suspect if Indy had the plastic valve covers from the newer LT1's (with an Oring) we wouldn't be having this discussion!!! Happy Labor Day !!! greg

Unfortunately, my tranny bit the bullet today so I will again be under the car working on it instead of up top driving it. Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions.
