Very easy. There's even a tool you can buy if you must. It's just a bent screwdriver so if you have an old flathead screwdriver, put it in a vise and bend it. You'll also need a small hammer to tap one side of the spring into place. I bought the spring from Zip products. Your leg will appreciate the door actually staying open :-)
