Default Purge connector for fuel system?

I have a 1991 coupe. I just switched out the fuel pump in the tank. The instructions state that, on my model, there is a (electrical) connector, under the hood, for purging or venting the fuel system. There is no discription or location information, nor any instructions on how to use it. Anyone done this?

I am not aware of any electrical connector under the hood for purging the fuel system. It's usually done with a schrader valve in the fuel rail (or just remove the gas cap).

Your right, about the schrader valve of course. It is my understanding, from the info I have, since the fuel pump normally only runs for 1.5 too 2 seconds on initial key "ON". once you hook up to the scharder valve, you have to make the fuel pump run in order to pump the fuel through the lines and rails to get all the air out. The instructions mention an electrical connector, under the hood, which is there to make the fuel pump run, apparently outside the normal parameters of the ECM and relays. As I said, There is just no other info as to exactly where this connector is or how it is used. It also eludes to the fact that the 91 is one year of such a provisition. Some other years of the C4 apparently did not have such a provision. But the info I have is sketchie, at best.

On your car, there is a connector out of the wiring harness that allows you to put 12V direct to the pump for the purpose you explain.
Red wire with blk connector; recall it was out of the main harness below brake booster before firewall connector on my '90

12V to terminal "G" on the ALDL will do the same thing
