Default has anyone had issues with Dynaspark?

I didn't want to post anything prematurely, but I purchased a reman'd dynaspark from them a few weeks ago, installed it, drove it for 20 miles and had to get my car towed back home last week. When I took the opti out of the car, I noticed the bottom vacuum hose was brittle and actually came right off of the nipple on the opti, I looked inside and the entire hose was dry rotted and shards of hard rubber fell out of it. I then lightly blew into the hose and heard a bit of a gurgle (moisture got into it from the hose I would think). I contacted them, I sent it back and they received it mid day Friday. After 3 emails and 2 bus. days, I can't get a response!

I was told the reman'd units were all 100% new parts aside from the housing. So I'm not too happy at this point. I've read nothing but good things about them, but I'm not seeing that at this point.

Didn't Dynaspark go out of business years ago?

I sure hope not!!!!

It is EJZ Enterprise is the company where I bought them, and I was under the assumption that they were the manufacturer as well????

I bought a Dynaspark some years ago before the company was sold to someone else.
My unit has been working great without any problems, hope it keeps that way.

finally got a response. Looks like they are going to repair everything and send back to me in a couple days. Trying to tell me there are other problems with my car (intake leak and bad PCV valve) but both have been replaced/changed recently. So far so good, but I wish people would just own up to a mistake instead of blaming it on something else. More info to come...

the moisture/oil had to have come from the dry rotted hose that is used to push the vacuum through the opti (bottom hose I think)

I got one for my engine rebuild, must be at least 4 years back now. The unit seems to have failed. I doubt if I have 4K miles on the thing, too.
Any suggestions?

I've had my "refurbished...and now freshly rebuilt" dynaspark on now for about a month and maybe 200 miles or so. it runs very good, but I am disappointed in the fact that that they either used an old hose on mine or simply used bad parts to refurb it. Then it took a long time to get it back after I sent it back, then they wanted to charge me for rebuilding it!!!! I'm happy that it is working well now, but I'm not a 100% happy cusotmer

My car has had nothing but gentle use since the rebuild, so I am very dissapointed in the product, should replacing it fix my problem.
The Opti was on that car some dozen to 14 years before it was replaced. It had a good 136k miles on it before the rebuild. The Dynaspark didn't last, despite the marketing pitch.

how do you know that the opti has failed? Just make sure you eliminate all the other parts that could have failed (coil, ICM, etc...) The reason mine failed was there was oil that had gotten in the unit. Dynaspark does rebuild their units, I don't know how much $$ that costs, but it might be worth a shot

My son is a fledgling mechanic at a local GM dealership. He has the car there and consults one of the senior mechanics. Neither one probably has much experience on C4's, but they have my shop manuals, their own databases et cetera on it.
If you have a full list of things to verify, I'll ping him on them. From what I know and read so far, he's checked most things (wires, 'distributor', fuel pump, ...).

I bought one a few years ago and it was broken out of the box. You could hear it make a grinding noise. Call them up and I had to pay for the return shipping which was supposed to be refunded but it NEVER was! I received another unit a few days later and no issues to date. I've ran the car hard but only put on maybe 5k miles since the install.

Would I buy another unit? No, because of the change in ownership and the lack of support.
