Default A/C Condenser Oil

When adding oil to a new A/C condenser, which outlet should you use to add the oil or does it matter?

There's no need to oil your condenser. If you feel you lost some oil while removing it I don't think it matters where you put it. The compressor is the the only part of you system that has moving parts that require oil, but this oil gets circulated through out the system.

No more than an oz, but you also need to replace the Accumulator/Dryer (once it's opened up). Put at least 3 ozs in that.

I am rebuilding my OEM R12 system. I will be replacing all components and hoses with the exception of the evaporator. My plan is to add A/C mineral oil to the new parts as follows:

* New Accumulator - 2 oz.

* New Compressor - 2 oz.

* New Condenser - 2 oz.

These volumes are consistent with the specs in the 1986 Shop Manual. DOES ALL THIS LOOK OKAY TO YOU?

Capacity is 8 ozs - I'd split it between the Compressor and the Accumulator; ie 4 & 4.
