Default third brake light

Got tired of buying bulbs for the 3rd brake light. Heres my fix. $10 at Harbor freight. The original can splice right back in if needed.

Nice job
I'm looking for a scrolling LED, so I can have it say something like "Back Off Jackass"

Neat idea, but not really mine. I dont remember when or where, but it seems like someone on here talked about doing something similar in the past. I just went out and found the right LED strip and thought I would share the results.

Looks good!! Do they have shorter lengths? When the 3rd brake light goes out on the Vert again, that would work great.

That has got to be some of the worst photochopping I've seen! (look at the HF page).

Still, I might look into this!

I didn't see that. Found it in the local store. I dont think I'd have bought it if I had looked at the web site. Looks much better in person. Not sure why they come out yellow in the pics. Anyway, I'm not sure how many of those old $10 bulbs Ive bought over the years but I wont do it again.

Default Vert Led 3rd brakelight

Did mine with the help of a forum friend, he sent me all the led's and resistors and then I just wired it up and added the logo, I blew out one led in the assembly process so it could be a little brighter, I'll do it over one of these days. But I got sick of buying those $10 bulbs too.

you can use a door lock solenoid to pull the trigger on a 12 ga pump shotgun...MUST use a rubber pad to allow for recoil...don't ask
