Default Squishy Clutch

I have an 88 4+3manual however the clutch is doing something that I dont think is a good thing. Randomly, but seems to be more when under a higher speed, the pedal goes soft, and squishy. The best way to describe it would like if your pedal was just mounted with nothing attached to it. I backed off of it, and a couple of seconds later it was fine again. It has done this a couple of times to me before and it isnt a consistent thing that i can pin down exactly when it is going to happen.

I had read that the clutch fluid need clear and probably circulated to help this out, which I did Wednesday night, also had to fill it since the fluid was well below the min mark, and it seemed ok yesterday, However as i said earlier it did it again this morning on the drive in, so i checked the fluid again was still full but black as tar.

From my limited knowledge this to me sounds like there is a little leak in the system and I am getting contaminents in the fluid and my guess also some air bubbles. I am not getting any slipping and it isnt rough shifting.

I am thinking I will pull that fluid out again and get some new fresh fluid back in it, but any advice or suggestions on how to clean this up so I have a more reliable clutch would be great.

Thanks
nate

Better check your fluid level in the master cylinder before you run out. Look to see if its wet at the master cylinder or the slave cylinder. That should tell you where it is.
