I have a 1986 coupe corvette. I have the replica Grand Sport wheels. The rear rims are the wide 11 inch ones with 315's. I believe there 30 or 35 series goodyear F1 tires. I have lowered the car with 12 inch bolts. I have also rebuilt the rear suspension with new trailing arms, Stut rods, Batwing assembly, bilstein shocks, u joints, tapered bearings and the largest sway bar you can get for the rear from VBP. The front suspension was rebuilt a few years ago. It also contains new bilstein shocks and has been lowered with the wedges. Im going to take it in for an alignment and am wondering if I should ask for different specs on the alignment because of all the changes?

After completely uilding both front and rears, lowering and poly bushings, I used the advanced street setup in this websitehttp://www.vettebrakes.com/align.htm
If all your going to do is cruise then use the DD setup. I chose the "advanced" and the tire wear is not good for cruising or traveling. Love it for the twisties and the track.

Take a semi bumpy road on the way over to settle the new parts. Fill the gas tank a little over 1/2 way before taking it in for the alignment....get a print out of the before and after...remind them that steering wheel centering is part of an alignment job. When you get the car back home recheck to see if they got all the joint jam nuts tight after the adjustments were made.
Pmartinez92126,
The ideas above are right on the money…
1. - Make sure the suspension is settled in before the alignment (like driving down a rough road).
2. – Get before and after printouts from the alignment shop (just incase).
3. – Use the ‘Advanced Street’ alignment recommendations from VBP. The new link is: http://www.vbandp.com/instructions/h...ruct/align.htm .
4. Make sure everything is tightened up well after the alignment.
5. Enjoy.

I set my 86 roadster to the advanced street specs a year ago and it has been tracking well with a very smooth ride and no recognizable abnormal tire wear.
