Egrrrrr
I followed the chart in the FSM.
Checked for leaks, as far as I can tell, none.
Checked the solenoid with a digital voltmeter because I didn´t have a test light.
Showed aprox. 12 volts. The book says faulty solenoid.
Checked vacuum in another way as well.
Engine running, disconnected the vacuum port between the TB and the solenoid, tried pulling vacuum there, nothing.
Disconnected both ports to the solenoid, pluggged the EGR port on the solenoid with a finger, pulled vacuum at the TB port at solenoid (the left one), could pull vacuum when I pulled fast but would bleed down pretty fast, pretty much acting like a minor vacuum leak.
Could this be my code 32 problem now.
Before I tried to pull vacuum at the EGR valve, I disconnected the MAP sensor in order to get to the EGR port a little easier.
Holy macaroni, that he didn´t like, as soon as my son started the car it would almost die immediately and when I tried to keep it running with the throttle it would backfire.
Sounds familiar to anyone???
If this is the solenoid, is there any other place then Ecklers to get it.
I mean, 74 bux, and having to modify it as well to fit, maybe it´s the only way...
Anyway, still get the code 32. Only at highway cruising speeds.
Read somewhere on the internet that that value is correct.
Found out that o´reilly still lists a standard motor products VS 35.
Sent them an email about availability.
Will see what happens.
Looks like this El Camino solenoid VS 13 might do the trick, but could only find one for 45 bux.
