It looks like one of my FX3 shocks has gone bad. I have done some research and it seems that its possible to get new shocks for 160 (discount dealer wants 580 each ) each. I have read about some guys sending in their shocks to Bilstein to have them redone also. Does anybody know the difference between buying new ones and having mine rebuilt.
TIA :)

rebuild yours, another friend of mine is borrowing a almost new set of z51 bilsteins i have for backups to have his rebuilt. since you live next door you can borrow these when he's done & have yours rebuilt...i guess it does wonders when you get them back
I had mine rebuilt and they are awesome. I had mine revalved for track. Turnaround was three weeks. I think it cost $100 per shock and they tested my actuators as well.
A little off-topic, but doesn't it suck that they cost so much? I can't even tell the difference on any of my F45 settings really.... but its good resale? :)
Hey Aqua, I'll let you go for a ride after mine come back from being rebuilt. I went with the Moracca valving in preperation for some coilovers.
Basically the new setting is
Touring = Is now the Sport setting
Sport = Is now the performance setting
Performance = Is now the true kidney killing, CD skipping setting
The Fx3's in my opinion are good stock, they don't last very long though. Mine only had 26,000 miles on them and the rebound was already gone. Although the compression was still good.
Shoot me an email aqua and we can talk about it some more.
