I own an 84 Corvette 350 4 barrel w/ a 700r4 transmission. I have everything to put a six speed from a 93 Corvette into it. I want to know if everything will bolt up w/ no surprises. Is the engine block the same from 84-93?
If you have the original 1984 engine, the flywheel won't bolt up. In 1986, when the rear main seal was changed from the old, two piece, style to a one piece seal, the bolt patten of the crank flange changed, as did the method of engine balance. That is the only part that won't swap directly. There may be some interior, console, issues I am not aware of. It is possible, depending on the year of the donor, that there could be speedo gear or VSS problems, but mechanically, the flywheel is the only item.
