Default Rear snubber extensions

Guys I have just extended my rear snubber, in hope of stopping breakage at the dragstrip. I extended the snubber two inches after check my measurements with the car jacked up. After installing the snubbers, it looked like i had at least one inch of clearance at normal ride height, like i figured. The problem is after the suspension settled the snubber are riding on top of the rear wheel assembly, but my half shafts are almost level with the ground. The suspension travel in the rear is at minimum. Will this effect my the launch at the track. I know my ride quality will suffer.

Thanks

No. but I'm running 15" rims with 26 " tires. The car does seem lower than factory.

Strange ; 26" is similar height to stock tire.

Try it, if it sucks then turn the spring nuts and raise the rear just a little till your happy. IIRC mine changes around 1/8" with and without fuel.

with that little rear suspension travel, you will crash the car (if not already)...rear end will kick sideways in a normal street cornering situation

DANGER

I drove the car today. I need to shorten the snubber down one inch. That should help the ride quality. I hope.

Have any of you heard of using the ZQ8 pinon snubbers from s10 pickups? The guys on impalassforum.com Have used these for years on Impala ss's when they lower them. These snubbers [yellow in color] are made to be part of the suspension, they give and depress slowly in measured amount almost like a shock not a fast quick stop like stock bumpstops. I'm told they greatly improve the ride and handling of their cars. I going to try them on my corvette as it's been lowered. I was told they can even touch at normal ride height as they have so much give to them.I ca get the part numbers if interested. Tim

One inch was the number for my car. When the snubbers hit, the half shafts are parallel to the ground.
