According to the FSM, you have to take the Water Pump pulley off. Question is whether you can just hoist the car up and do it from below or is the WP removal the best way?
Also, ATI seems to be recommended over Fluidampr. That really a good move? TIA
No reason to pull the water pump off. Maybe take the pulley off to gain some working room.
As far as ATI vs Fluidampr it is a matter of choice.I have always run the Street damper from Fluidampr and was pleased with the results.
No experience with the ATI. If yours is a stock application you can save alot of money by just using a quality stock replacement.
Fluidampr=$$$
Good luck on the project

Ain't going to get it from underneath , balancer sits over X member.
Pulley has to come off and even then working room is limited to to get hub puller in because of steering rack and chassis brace .Pulling the engine mount bolts and jacking engine up gives some more working space
When I did mine L98 / 87 I removed the water pump pulley for some added working space. Did entire job from the top about 2 1/2 hours to replace balancer. I have a write up on doing the project search my posts. didn't have to jack up motor you have room to work, I removed MAF and upper rad hose also.
