Keep the C4 for another 18 months and get the C6 and make all the C5 guys jealous. You'll get your Z06 and it will be like having a '95 C4 in '97. I'm skipping the C5 myself. Figure I'll get the house and wait until 2005.

This is something I am contemplating now as well. I will shortly be ready to buy my first Corvette and will have the funds to afford a 96 or possibly a 97.

This is a tough decision , LT4 96 and 97 M6 have similar actual rwhp numbers, optioned similarly the C5 is ~140+lbs lighter. The C5's are definitely more "refined" and solid feeling but they are also more compromised in that respect as well - as someone put it , feel more like a Camaro. The C5 definitely have more storage space as well and MUCH smaller sills . For me , the car will be a weekend driver (replacing my 97 Cobra Convert) and some of the comfort compromises are not as important. I like the way the C4 looks and feels from the wheel (aside from the squeeks and creeks-though they can add some "character") .

As for looks and performance , I think they are pretty close, and so is their potential. LT4's can see over 400 rwhp with a good "heads/cam" setup , just like LS1's. The ZF tranny is at least as good as the T56 and the balance of C4's is very good.

I would like a C5 , they are great cars, but , I would be VERY satisfied with a nice 96 LT4 as well.......these kind of choices are fun :D

I feel your pain.. I'm still in the air as to repairing my beast or getting a C5. Love my baby but she's been rode hard and put away wet for going on 14 yrs. Saving for the C-5, storing the C4, come on, $20 a month at a u-store-it? Just a thought :chevy :flag

I've driven a C5 and I have a C4. My C4 feels faster even when I'm not really pushing it. In my opinion you drive a C5 and you wear a C4. I like the closeness of the C4 more than I liked the space of the C5. With a C4 you are more involved with driving the car. I love that feeling. The only C5 I would buy would be a Z06. And besides, I don't know about you, but I always catch C5 guys admiring my C4! :yesnod:

Well you asked for it - You know already there is no comparison. They are two different cars even though both Corvettes. It's like, would you rather have a C4 or a Jaguar? Duh..?

My plan is to keep the C4 and once paid off, get a C5. C4's have their merits just like C5's do. Enjoy both for what they are.

Thanks again guys. I might have to paint and keep my C4 also if no one buys it off me at the cost of the parts alone! :) The C5 deal I'm getting is good, very clean, 22K miles, 12.1 sec ET and only $26.5K so the $45K arguments don't work for me, and I wouldn't pay that either to trade my C4 :D

both great cars. i would choose the c5 over my car, though. I totally agree with the earlier post about the c5 interior reminding me of a camaro, though. However, I do like the fact that they went back to a "simpler" interior and gauges. I hate all those damn buttons on my car. The c5's are so user friendly.

I am 16 and nigh-invincible, so I couldn't care less about ease of entry. :D Plus its always a nice bonus to open the door for girls and get a decent show.

I love my 1994, it feels fast as hell, waaay faster than my moms '87 and my old '91. I have the base seats but they feel a lot better than the C5s seats. The whole car wraps around me a lot better than the C5s also.

However if I had the money for a fully loaded 99 I would get one in a heartbeat.

I'm really thinking about a C5 but don't care about all the comforts. If mine was traded I want a C5 fixed roof no active suspension, dual zone ac, HUD etc. It is just so easy to make 400rwhp in a C5 and drive everyday.

If you decide you made a mistake, I'll trade you even up for my '90. Might even throw in a few bucks. :jester :jester :jester

Just buy the C5 and keep the C 4 that way you will have no regrets! Then you can pick which one you want to drive each day ! Also you can save on insurance by lowering it on the one you drive least. ;)

Well I got the c5 and no regreats, I just beat a 12 second not TX street legal 3rg gen Camaro on a popular street in down tonight :D This thing didn't even have much of an interior, not even dash, lol.

Though the C4 is not, it does feel faster, and also handles better to me I think, thats tell I get the z06 sway kit though. See the link below to see my C4! If no one wants it :(, I may have to keep it.

I'd wait for the C6!

I plan on keeping my C4, and buying a new C6 Z06 when they come out :yesnod:
(silver of course)
