It is easy to pull most of the ABS fault codes using a paper clip bent into a "U" shape.
With the ignition off -Insert the paper clip into the "H" and "A" pins of the ALDL (usually located at the bottom of the left dash above your right foot).
Turn the ignition "on". A flash sequence should appear on the dash (speedometer).
The flash sequence will begin with a Code 12 to signal the beginning of the fault code display. Each stored code will be displayed three times. After all of the codes have been displayed, the sequence will repeat starting again with Code 12.
Example: Code 12 = one flash then two flashes.
Rather than typing in all of the codes and their definitions, if you get any codes post them here.
There are five codes of the eighteen possibilities that are NOT readable by this method. You will need someone with a GM "Tech 1" code reader to retrieve those five. Any GM dealer should have a "Tech 1" reader-most independent shops don't.

Wildride: thanks, is that for a 90 model? i have heard that they changed for 92 up?
I wonder whether other car brake systems can be adapted to fit the vette? the only reason i ask, is for me to buy a booster they are AUD $400+ (being in Australia) but if i used a more modern one with master and all(from our commodores) i could get it all for probably AUD $100 and most likely have a lot better braking! As i have said before my other car will stop straight away as i touch the pedal, whereas the vette needs quite a bit of pedal before it even starts to slow! just wondering?

Those ABS Code instructions are for a 1990. Other years I don't know.
If your car has been converted to right hand driving the ALDL socket may have been moved. Having never seen a RHD conversion in the states, I don't know about that one!
