Default heads on an 86

hey, i have an 86, with cast iron heads. i have alot of time this winter and wanted to know if the aluminum heads fitted on later 86's would fit, and what mods if any ill need to do to fit them. also if anyone has some they can save, id buy them off you this winter.

Yes they will fit with modification to your engine. Mid 86 and up are center bolt valve covers. Yours will not fit. Keep a watch in the For Sale section. Heads show up often.

JMO but probably not worth the amount of money the aluminum heads usually go for. Our 86 has the aluminum but while shopping I drove an 86 with cast iron heads and the difference in power was zip. Save your money for one of the million things that can go wrong with this vehicle. lol

Work on the intake and exhaust first more bang for your buck.
