1995 speedometer not working

1995 speedometer not working
I just pick up a 95 corvette in great shape but the speedometer is lit up but it will only show 0 everything else on the cluster and in the car works fine just not the speedo. any thoughts on where to look first?

The vehicle speed sensor in the trans feeds the PCM, that feeds the CCM which feeds the spedo.
The PCM also feeds the cruise. Check and see if the cruise works. If it does the problem area is the CCM or spedo. But if the cruise does not work the vehicle speed sensor in the transmission is probably bad (or PCM). Its output is a square wave pulse and is electrically connected, there is no spedo cable. It’s a magnet and a coil making pulses. Check the wiring at the transmission.
Also check to see if there are any codes. You would be looking for 24 in module 4 which is vehicle speed sensor.
This is just a starting point so you may know what area to look in.
