I have a set of stock 85 wheels that were poorly chromed years ago and now the chrome is coming off in strips. How the H#)) do I get the rest of the chrome off so that I can "ATTEMPT" to put some sort of finish on them?? If anybody has any ideas I sure would appreciate your thoughts and recommendations.
Bill,
Try to find a local business that does Chrome plating. It is a simple process for them to "de-chrome" your wheels. DO NOT try to sand blast the chrome off.
You guys are GODS. I want to remove the Chrome and polish them up. Cant afford new ones. I got a set of 4 for $30 at a metal recycler who was going to crush them   I figured if nothing else I could try to scrape and sand but the de-crome option sounds like the answer. About how much do they charge?? I polished my origional ones up and they look great!! :D
