Default Holley Carb ?

I purchased a 84 Corvette about 3 weeks ago. It hase a Q jet Carb and its not working properly.

Does anyone out there have an idea.
What type or Holley carb would be good for me ?
& would it work better ?

Also the cluster hase a crack on the left side from (accros) from one corner to the other. Do I have to change the hole cluster ?

Thank you !

The Holley 80555C Spreadbore carb is a direct replacement for the Rochester Q-Jet although it's not cheap. However, make sure that you have a non-computer controlled carburetor on a spreadbore intake manifold before buying the Holley.

Just a thought: It might be more cost-effective just to rebuild the Q-Jet.

Crossfire TBI's were standard on '84s so your Vette's carburetor installation isn't stock. The 1981 model had a computer controlled carburetor and it's possible that someone may have swapped out the Crossfire unit for an '81 setup. If your carburetor has a throttle position sensor switch on the side with wires going to it, it's a computer controlled model. (Pictures of your current installation would help.)

Assuming that you are talking about the instrument cluster in front of the driver, yes, you'll need to remove the cluster to have it fixed as the unit is serviced as a whole.

You don't have to send the instrument cluster off for service. You can find replacement LCDs on eBay for $100. Go here to see installation instructions.
