Default 1994 corvette harmonic balancer HELP

Hi everyone just want to know on a 1994 do I have to set Top dead Center spark 1 for correct timming or does it set itself..

Im, having a bad vibration that might be coming from what I guess if the crank shaft pulley is this also referred to as the harmonic balancer.

I think I have it on wrong if thats possible. I put is on by just lineing up the bolt holes nothing else. After putting it on I have been getting a bad vibration from the drive shaft area.

I need some serious help dont know what to do at this point.

There is no ignition timing to set as you indicated. The PCM seta and adjusts timing based on its inputs and the optis input. The main “timing” is aligning the opti shaft correctly. If you get it wrong even by one tooth, the engine will not start.

The balancer can go on 3 ways by the bolt pattern. It should be put on in the same place it came off.

What work did you do on the car? Did you change the opti?

The bolt pattern is not evenly spaced. The balancer can only go on one way. It is possible to damage the balancer during removal by beating or prying on it. If you did that, you may need a new balancer.

If the vibration is from the driveshaft area, why would you suspect the balancer?

Really

I have been marking position for years. I was under the impression from others it could go on any way, although I probably never tried it, that I can remember.

If he beat on the outside of it that could have damaged it. But you might feel that without driving, just running the engine up.

Yes really.

The hub can be installed in any position because the crank is not keyed. The balancer cannot be installed in any position due to the reason I cited above.

Default balancer position

I originally took it off to replace an opti

I looked at it again and seen the arrow on the balancer and lined it up with the 3 armed metal part it attaches to which has an raised piece on it. I was told by the corvette dealer that this balancer has be be aliened or it will send a vibration right down the drive shaft. i will let you know how this turns out thank you all for you fast response this car is driving me crazy.
