Default lapping compound

how critical is it to remove all of the lapping compound before putting the heads together?

Think "pouring Barkeepers Friend down intake tract while redlining engine"

..........actually I know some ******** that suggest using that product (but not redlining) as a hone-the-cylinders-while-you-drive-it's-like-a-complete-rering-job-in-ten-minutes cure all for worn engines.
I also know many fools that think the moon landings are fake.

I tried to really wipe down the valve and seats 3 times with paper towels... hopefully I did a good enough job
