Pulled my code and got number 4 H32 which my Hanes manual says EGR recirculation circut.
Check vacuum source and all lines.Check connectors at ECm and EGR valve.Replace EGR valve or ECM as necessary.
Can someone get me a little closer or tell me where to start looking first.
I know where your comming from got a code 42 and just dont have the skill to handle it. If I were you I would start at the egr since it is the simplest. Check the egr by applying vacum to it, it should operate if its good.
Ok I checked the EGR Valve with my finger and it moves in and out pretty freely.
I have no way to apply vacumm to the valve.
On the early models the book says I can ground the EGR solinoid to see if it is working.I would assum mine would be the same.I guess I will try that tomorrow.
My Hanes book shows 3 different ways to check the valve depending on the year. Why would this not work on all years. If I push it in while running the RPM's should drop????
Any easy ticks on checking my 95 valve and solinoid
All vacuum lines look good.

First thing, throw the haynes manual in the trash. Get FSM. The FSM will elimanite guessing.
A bad ECM will throw its own code. EGR's get soot in them. Take it off and clean it. Is it a L98? you may be able to use a dental mirror to see it move with the engine running. Giving year model is very helpful.
