I was just wondering if it was ok to use a gauge cluster from say an 88 in my 85. I tried one out in my car and I think it was from an 88, and it plugged right in and worked, I just wanted to see if anyone else has done this. By the way my car is an auto so i dont need the upshift light, but I think it would just stay off the whole time if the cluster has it.??

On my 88 automatic the upshift light will come on if I'm shifting manually. My guess would be until they went to the Analog/Digital dash they should be interchangeable.
Bill Reid has an '84 Dash in his '85, if that works, I bet all years work. Obviously your "Upshift for best economy" won't work, but I bet everything else will.
