SMC Panel Delamination
What causes SMC to delaminate? Was it just not made correctly from the factory or some outside source causing it to separate? I just bought a roof panel that shows some signs of separation at the front edge. I was wondering if water might be getting between the layers. Its from Florida so I dont think it is water freezing and expanding the layers but I dont know where it was before FL.
How do you go about fixing this problem? It isnt bad but I am going to prep it for new paint and dont want it to continue after I get done.

Are you stating that the paint is delaminating from the SMC or the SMC layers itself are delamiting from each other??
If it just paint, Adhesion starts with proper prep, you have to go back to the guy that "resprayed" it and ask him what he "didn't" do

Itr looks as if the gel coat along with the paint is delaminating from the fiber mat underneath. I can actually see the hairs from the mat in some places. Its pretty minor but I want to repair it properly to prevent it from happening after I repaint.
