The last time I had to replace those bulbs (Sylvania 891) they were like $10 ea. even at Pep Boys, so I don't think Ecklers is really over charging. I don't know why the hell they are so expensive.
A couple of bulbs are out in my 86's third stop lamp. The idea of paying $11 apiece for these things from Eckler's makes me wanna puke!
Does anyone know a Sylvania (or other) part number for these bulbs?
Last time I got them I paid between 6-8 each at Kmart.
I shopped around ALOT until I found them cheap(er)
They are high priced because they are halogen lamps,
So don't touch te bulbs with your skin, use a paper towel or something to prevent oils from getting on the glass, other wise they won't last too long.
good luck!
Chris
That's exactly the price I wanted to hear about. I have to make a trip to Home Depot this weekend anyway, I'll look for 'em.
I had to replace one of the bulbs in the engine compartment. An odd little tubular job. Again Eckler's wanted upwards of $10 for the damn things, and I got a 2 pack at Kragen for $2.89.

Re: Bulb # for third stop lamp (graemus)
Whoa! If you want to get simple parts, do not get them from the mail order places. I got mine for $8 at the local Advanced Auto store. I believe they're much cheaper at Walmart or Kmart also. MidAmerica and Ecklers makes it easier because of they have a lot of specialty items and accessories, but if it's better to shop around for some of the parts that GM uses on many of the cars they make, the Corvette included. It's just takes a little leg work. By the way, sometimes, I mean sometimes, the dealer sell cheaper parts than the parts store. Good luck.
