Need scanner info
Have a 1990 and want to buy a scanner or a program to check for codes and see what the systems are doing can you guys point me in the right direction.
Right now i have a service abs light on and have the fsm but it wont pull and codes with the paper clip.

I just bought an Auto Xray 3000 on eBay for $89. It is a discontinued model but seems to work fine on my 85. It is also upgradeable. They have more listed. The only problem I found is that it uses a serial connector rather than USB to connect to my laptop. I need to get a gender changer for the connector.

Auto X ray is probably the best until you get into the pro scanners costing thousands..I have the Auto Xray 6000 which is around $350.00 but the less expensive ones also do a good job with readings..Just make sure the one you buy does OBD 1 and OBD 2 ..WW
