Default Header Help Please

I'm debating on what type of header I should order. I was thinking about a longtube but would it interferr with my cats or should I get like a shorty. I'm looking for performance but mostly sound. Can I get some opinions on brands like JBA, Exotic Muscle, or TPIS. Thanks for all the help.

Nick

Default Exhaust Port Size...

Do you have a stock motor? Stock Heads? If your have say, AFR heads, you should check the exhaust port side. Just a while back, I got a beautiful set of headers from Stainless Works which didnt end up fitting due to the large port on the heads and the small header flange opening.....I just placed an order with Exotic Muscle which should fit just right.

Not that this is the right forum, but I do have a nice set of Hooker Shorties I was going to use but now, are collecting dust.

Get something that "fits well" and will show some Horsepower gains

Kooks,American racing,LG Motorsports Longtubes,QTP's , or Stainless Works

I would go with kooks or american racing if I were you and then send them out for HotCoating inorder to cut down on engine bay heat

Shorty headers aren't going to give you the Horsepower gains your looking for.

Thanks, and if I got long tubes would I have problems hooking them up to the cats, or would I have to go "catless"? And I do have stock heads and a CORSA catback already

You're not going to gain much from shorties to justify the expense. Long tubes will require a new front y-pipe.

You can take it to a muffler shop and they will Patch in a small piece on both sides, some shops won't approve of longtubes but just just keep calling till you find one that will.

"Also make sure they have a lift for low profile vehicles"
Don't tell them you have a corvette till you get the price if you can help it or else the price will go up lol it's true
also Yes you can keep your cats and add some "High flow cats later" if you like

But your stock mid pipe will work and you will save some major $$$$$
using it

By the way I have a 95. I don't know if you guys know of Zip Corvette, well the shop isn't one hour from where I live so when I do get it installed it will be done there. I don't really know if they do welding work, but I will see when I schedule my appointment to get some other things done too. If I get "free flowing cats" will I have problems with the 02 sensors?
