I got the Willcox Corvette Weatherstrips to fix the leak in the door areas. That didn't work any better than the OEM ones. That tells me one simple thing. Either BOTH the OEM and the Willcox units are junk, possible but not probable or the doors are not aligned properly (way more probable). I have talked to a body shop that gave it a shot but no joy. Still leaks.

So, is there anyone who knows a good shop that can cure the issue? Willcox says that if I get it to them, the probably can fix it but they are too far away. Any ideas for a shop, ANYONE? TIA.

I'm dealing with the same thing now so I feel your pain. Weatherstrips and windows not adjusted properly are tricky and a real pain to do.

That body shop should have been able to fix it, they probably just didn't put the time and effort into it, but another option would be an auto glass shop to do the work. Those guys are very familar with adjusting and aligning door glass windows and do it all the time when they replace a broken door glass.

In the front of the doors. When it rains, it leaks there. It hits the speakers by the footwell on BOTH sides.

I have the same problem with my 86. Got the wilcox A pillar and the door weatherstrips. I get water/wind noise at the front of the window, if I slide the window adjustment forward I get a bigger gap at the rear top of the window. I have messed with this for hours, adjusted everything and tried all tips and suggestions and cannot get it right. Now I just try to avoid driving in the rain and turn up the stereo when I am on the highway so I cant hear the noise. I hope you have better luck than me and if you do please share. Sorry I couldn't help you but misery does love company. Good luck

I searched the subject here, I found a few posts that went into great detail about removing the metal 'trim strip' under the windshield posts, sealing them, etc.

Since I recently replaced the rubber on my car I didn't want to rip it all off and do it again, but I filed the information into my 'memory' (I didn't save the posts) for future reference.
