"Universal" wire sets usually, come with 90 degree or 180 degree plug boots. Ordinarially, to get a set with the one straight boot, you need to get a "custom" set, spec'ed for your car. There are many GOOD brands of wires availible. If you want something better than stock and less fragile than the OE carbon core wires, look for a "sprial core" wire set. The conducter is monel (metal) and sprial wound around a (usually) fiberglass core. The spiral allows the conducter to act as an electrial "choke", preventing RF interference. The metal core is more durable than the carbon stockers. Don't go for solid core wires in anything less than a race car. The RF they allow will play havoc with your electronics, not to mention your sound system. In MY opinion, too many people spend (waste) too much money on over kill in their ignition systems. 8.5, 8.8, and 9 mm wires are good, but used in lots of applications where their additional capabilities are wasted. The only thing you really get from the oversized diameter is more insulation. If it makes you feel good to have the biggest, best, trickest looking, set of wires, go for it. The 8 mm wires will be easier to install, cost less, and won't compromise performance one iota. The last part of this advice is based on the premise that you don't have a highly modified engine. Have fun.
I just changed mine, I used Taylor sprial wires. They fit in the stock looms and were a prefect match, they did come
with the correct angle cap for the #6 cyl. They were also a real pain in the butt to change, well at least to get them
installed the same way the originals were.
Good luck.
