In addition to above. A bad brake (or clutch) switch contact for the cruise circuit can cause the cruise not to engage. Also make sure the pedals are hitting and depressing the switches and that the assembly(s) is not out of adjustment

Your talking way above my pay-grade. Can you elaborate, or point me to a website, which can walk me through some of the things you mentioned. I checked for that cruise vacuum in the ASR box, and it looked properly attached, no cuts or nicks on the tubing.

Thanks,

What Paul is saying is the brake switch is by far the most common reason for cruise control problems. Since you have an LT4 you also have a switch on the clutch pedal. While you brake lights might work fine the cruise control part of the brake switch is likely defective.
Here is a pix of the switch on the brake pedal. Only one of the tandem switch assemblies has an electrical connector to it. The clutch probably has a single unit switch.
It does come apart and the contacts can be removed and cleaned.
Thanks for the pix. I'll check it out, and let you know how I make out. I'll eventually wind up taking it to my mechanic, as all I will do is make matters worse.
