Valve cover ?

I just got my new valve covers in (Edelbrock). I was hoping these would clear my roller rockers. They do not. They are no better than my stock units. The support thing that runs from the center bolt guide to the cover wall is hitting the rockers. Is it normal to have to cut this? I noticed the LT-1 valve cover does not have this support structure. What does it take to upgrade to a LT-1 cover on a L-98? Can I just cut this support thing out some to clear the rockers?

the LT1 valve covers fit fine once you cut away all the drip tabs... :

I had to remove/reduce the drip tabs and narrow the bolt bosses to clear the 1.6:1 ProMagnums. Then the stock valve covers fit just fine.
