Bought my 84 Crossfire in September with 66k and it now has 67k and some change. Although it drips a bit of oil from the pan (rear seal?), the oil level has not dropped much since I first changed it. Since mid-September I have:
changed oil, filter, and lubed it
changed the plugs
replaced valve cover gaskets
replaced guage cluster (go Ron Degutis!)
replaced thermostat
replaced HVAC control box (Ron Degutis!)
fixed heater control valve (yes, it gets cold in SC!)
fixed cruise control (adjusted brake switch)
eliminated some vacuum leaks
replaced tach filter
replaced brake master cylinder with PBR unit (some guy on ebay) and flushed the system

Reason: left stuff out
Put engine Dye in the oil and drive it around for a couple of days.
Get under the engine and shine a "Black light" to look for the dye residue which will show where the oil leak is.
The engine dye is available at any auto parts store.
the leak could be originating from the junk gaskets they use under the intake and it runs down the back of the block. my '89 leaks in both the front and the rear of the intake but not as much to cause a drip just heavy oil residue. inspect the area behind your intake next to the firewall.
