Default '93 No Start

I am new to this forum and this is my first post.
I have a no start problem with my '93. When I turn the ignition on nothing happens, no weak battery no click no nothing. All other electrics work. The opti is new and the water pump is new. I don't know if this is a VATS problem or not.

If I had two of these 93's they would make great book ends.

Any help would be appreciated.

Battery connected tight and free from corrosion?
Any lights come on when key turned?
Have you put a volt meter to the battery?

Just a thought check all fuses first.
I only say this because I pulled the large fuse under the hood for my interior lights so I cold see if I was getting any fireworks under the hood at night and My vette would not start nothing not a click.
You should have 2 black fuse boxes with large fuses in them close to the battery and all the little fuses on the side of the dash on passenger side.

I checked battery connections and all is good. I visibly checked fuses in both boxes under the hood as well as the fuse box on passenger side of the dash nothing blown that I can see.

All of the electric devises like headlights, radio, dash read outs function.

I charged the battery and still nothing as far as starting. I do not have a battery tester that will test the battery under a load. I have a fully charged Optima Red Top I will install tomorrow. If that is not the cure, I will then check cables, ground, clutch safety switch and starter mod as recommended.

From what I have read here the VAT can cause a lot of problems, I am considering bypassing it. My question is if i do will it eliminate the PKE?

Again, thank all of you for your help. If you have any more recommendations, I'm all ears.

It will not eliminate the PKE, if you have a spare key, have you tried it?
Pellets in keys are known to go bad, happened to me right after I bought the car. So you should always have a spare, keep mine hidden on my car.

But it sounds like the pellet is going bad, try cleaning the key w/electrical cleaner spray and spraying some down the key hole. Helped me start the car a couple of times before I got new keys.

I do have a spare key and I'll try it first thing. Thank you for the heads up.

surfer 92 you hit the nail on the head! My daily driver key is bad. I tried the spare key and its all systems go, it started right up. I let the engine warm up then shut it down and did a restart and bingo, it started up no problems. Just to tempt my good luck I tried to start it with my daily key and I got nothing. I waited about 30 minutes for the VATS to reset then started it up with the spare key and all is good.

I want to thank all of you for your help with my no start problems. You guys are ACES.

Sorry I am late getting back to you. I went to the Chevy dealership parts dept. They will need your key to read the code then if they have one in stock to match it they will cut you a new one. If the one you have is bad they will probably need your vin #. I don't know if you have the same problem as I did but it wont hurt to try an new key. It cost about $30.

Good luck, let me know if the new key worked.
